AIA Akron Annual Business Meeting + October Chapter Meeting

October 7, 2014
The Tangier

Our guest speaker for the evening presentation is Keeven White

Keeven WhiteKeeven White, founder of WhiteSpace Creative, has more than 25 years experience building brands from the ground up. As agency president and CEO, he is responsible for creating, communicating, and implementing the organization’s vision, mission, and overall direction to benefit the company, clients and community.

Keeven launched his career at The Little Tikes Company, a division of Rubbermaid in Hudson, Ohio. For seven years, he managed a creative team responsible for the company’s print collateral and advertising materials, as well as redeveloped a comprehensive packaging identity.

Going from corporate employee to founder of a communications firm was a very natural transition for Keeven. Raised in a family that owned and operated a printing company, he had early exposure to the challenges of managing a small business. In fact, the printing company was where Keeven gained a solid background in printing technology and a strong work ethic. Those very attributes are the foundation of WhiteSpace’s creative solutions and are continually reflected in the agency’s daily efforts.

Keeven openly shares his expertise and experience with the community through a variety of speaking engagements. He has presented to both students and professionals alike, from participating in round-table discussions to being a guest speaker at various conferences and chamber events. He has served on the executive advisory board of The University of Akron marketing department and as an advisory board member of the Ohio Film Office, based in Columbus, Ohio. Keeven currently serves on several area boards, including the Area Agency on Aging board of directors as the marketing chair and a nominations committee member.

In addition to WhiteSpace’s corporate honors, Keeven has been recognized for his individual business, creative and community service efforts, including:

  • Entrepreneurial Spirit Award, Cascade Capital Business Growth, 2009
  • Entrepreneur of the Year, The Small Business Council of the Greater Akron Chamber, 2007
  • 30 for the Future Award, Greater Akron Chamber and LIVE Publishing, 2006
  • Small Business Leadership Award, Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) North Central Ohio Chapter, 2006
  • Crain’s Cleveland Business inaugural 40 Under 40, 2003

A graduate of Kent State University, Keeven has a BFA in visual communications. He lives in North Canton, Ohio, with his family.
