Position Description
David Sommers & Associates is currently in the process of accepting resumes for the position of Architectural Designer. Candidates should be capable of being part of a project team and have a strong understanding of projects from the conceptual design phase through the construction documents phase.
Firm’s Focus
David Sommers & Associates has a focus on five project typologies:
- Restaurant and Retail Design, Animal Facilities, Municipal/Civic Buildings, Residential/Housing Projects, and Adaptive Re-Use of Existing Structures
Basic Qualifications:
- Candidate must have the ability to show strong competence in understanding of methods and materials of construction technology and methodology
- Proficient in AutoCad
Additional Qualifications (not mandatory)
- Proficient in REVIT
- LEED Accredited Professional
Experience Requirements
- Candidate should have three to five years of experience working in a professional architectural firm completing Schematic Design drawings, Design Development drawings and Construction Document drawings
- Willingness to be part of a “team approach” and have a cooperative attitude
- Candidate should have a strong desire to improve his/her knowledge of the architectural design process as well as a goal of personal growth within both the technical and design aspects of this process
