Project Architect

GLSD Architects, a division of The GEIS Companies is a nationally recognized Design-Builder seeking a full-time Project Architect for our Streetsborolocation. 1-9 years of experience is preferred. Efficient in using Autodesk software, including AutoCAD and Revit. Experience with the use of Photoshop, Acrobat Reader/Writer, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel software is desired. Detail-oriented in the developing of construction documents.

This applicant will be responsible for design development, construction drawings, and construction administration. Will be hiring within the next 30 days. Competitive salary, based on experience. Healthcare Project Manager

DS Architecture seeks the right individual for the position of a Project Manager for our Healthcare Studio. Candidates should desire to be a part of and leading a project team. In addition, this individual should have a strong understanding of projects from the conceptual design phase through the construction documents phase. Our design culture encourages collaboration, commitment and excitement – leveraging each person’s unique skills to create successful projects. A paramount attribute of any staff member is the ability to work in partnership successfully with the entire team, and to have fun.

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Professional Architectural degree from an accredited university
  • Minimum architectural firm experience – 5 years beyond graduation
  • Proficient in AutoCad and REVIT
  • Google Sketch Up knowledge
  • Adobe Creative Cloud competency

Additional Qualifications (not mandatory): 

  • NCARB certificate holder

Experience Requirements: 

  • Experience as a project manager in all aspects of project design including:

Candidates should exemplify leadership and robust organizational skills in leading a diverse group through the successful completion of multiple projects simultaneously. They must also continually demonstrate the virtue of patience and approachability. Our Police/Fire/Administration Studio is all public work. Candidates should possess a leadership approach that balances the bureaucracy and patience of public projects while creating a nurturing atmosphere and team first mentality.

Facilities Project Manager

The Facilities Department at John Carroll University is seeking applicants for a Project Manager position. Under the supervision of the Director of Capital Projects, this position will be responsible for the planning, budgeting, design, coordination, bidding, contract administration and oversight of select new construction or renovation activity on the John Carroll University campus.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the design, bidding, and construction processes for all assigned new construction and renovation projects. This shall include coordination of a design team when applicable, supervision of contractors, management of all construction activity, maintenance of project documentation, and verification that all work meets the quality standards and expectations of the University.
  • Monitor and manage project budgets and schedules by communicating with design team, contractors, Director of Capital Projects, and Associate VP of Facilities and Auxiliary Services. Negotiate and resolve issues to ensure projects meet requirements and objectives.
  • Coordinate daily activities and project needs with members of Facilities Department staff, as well as other University personnel as required.
  • Provide architectural and space planning services and budgeting for projects in their early stages of concept development.
  • Work with governing officials to verify projects comply with local and state building and zoning codes, as well as ADA Guidelines.
  • Maintain project and building drawings and files; update the electronic archiving systems for these documents.
  • Maintain proper documentation for contractor insurance, contracts, qualifications, etc.; ensure proper permitting, licensing, and approvals are received from the jurisdiction having authority.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following fields of study: Construction Management, Architecture or Engineering, and a minimum of (5) five years management experience in the construction industry.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Architectural or Engineering professional license and/or LEED AP.
  • Prior experience working in a residential collegiate environment.
  • Possess a working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft PowerPoint, and AutoCAD and/or Revit.
