Who: Teams of Architects, Engineers, Corporations, Artists, Clubs, Contractors, Designers, Groups, Students, Organizations, Societies and Charitable People join together
What: Design & build structures made entirely from canned foods within a 10′ x 10′ x 8′ space
Why: To benefit the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank which serves 8 counties and over 180,000 neighbors in need
When:
5/1 Team Entry Deadline (please email intent to admin@aiaakron.org by that time, team entry form and $50 check can be mailed)
5/15 Team Final Design Drawing Due
6/1 Build Day – Teams and volunteers only inside gallery for safety, We Gallery shop and Uncorked Wine Bar are open to all
6/2 5-7pm Akron ArtWalk, Downtown Akron Partnership – trolley stop at We Gallery –open to all, kid friendly, free, donations accepted
6/2 7pm Awards Gala – presentation of jury selected Canstruction awards to teams, friends and family invited, open to all, donations accepted
6/1-6/30 Exhibit Open throughout June to all during We Gallery and Uncorked Wine Bar hours – please call or check websites for times
6/30 Decanstruction
